I made my stage debut as an orange fairy light at the age of 3 and have had a passion for performing ever since and aim to pass that enthusiasm on to my students! I started teaching in 2008, tutoring the choristers of Bradford Cathedral in music theory, singing and religious context. Having spent a long time teaching in schools and music services, I set up my own vocal studio, Ms Hannah Sings, in 2019. As well as training students for exams, performances and just for the fun of it, I also have experience in audition coaching for cathedral and chapel choirs and musical theatre, with students earning a places in the UK Tour of South Pacific, Ely Cathedral Choir and The National Children's Choir of Great Britain.
Singing lessons aren't just about good technique and training a strong, healthy voice, singing is also about building confidence, encouraging self discipline and good posture, as well as promoting healthy breathing and lowering stress levels. I am comfortable teaching all ages, genders and abilities. I truly believe that everyone can sing, it's all about finding your voice!
In addition to singing, I also coach the spoken voice, working mostly with female entrepreneurs to help them feel more confident when speaking in their business, whether it's going live on social media, presenting to clients or appearing on podcasts. I help you love the sound of your own voice!
I split my time between teaching and performing with small ensembles as well as performing regularly as a soloist, singing jazz and hits from the last 100 years. As if that didn't keep me busy enough, in 2021 I co-founded VocEly Community Choir as Musical Director, we are a non-audition, inclusive choir based in Ely.
