This year's theme is EMBRACE EQUITY.
One of WIBN's key principles is that EMPOWERED WOMEN EMPOWER WOMEN.When women are empowered amazing things happen. A more equitable world leads to more empowered women. And more empowered women lead to a more amazing world.
We asked our members to think about what women's equity and empowerement means to them. This is what our Warrington, Knutsford & Altrincham franchisee Susie Greatbanks had to say...
There is a really famous quote that says…
“Support women on their way to the top. Trust that they will extend a hand to those who follow”.
Whilst I believe that those women that rise to the top undoubtedly pave the way for those that follow, for me that’s not enough.
The quote that really resonates with me is…
“When women support each other incredible things happen”.
I believe that we can all support each other, cheer each other on and lift each other up no matter what stage we’re at. You don’t have to wait until you get to the top to lift up your fellow woman. Do it now!
There is often a misconception that you need to be in a position of power in order to support someone else. Many women tell me that they don’t feel that their support is important or they don’t have the credentials to offer help that is of any worth.
I say “that’s rubbish”. We are all worthy and each of us are capable of offering really helpful advice and support.
Empowered Women Empower Women
Sometimes all it takes is a listening ear or some words of encouragement to make someone feel supported. A different perspective is really valuable and you don’t know who you will inspire with your thoughts.
Sharing your story and listening to others is EMPOWERING. The achievements and successes along with the failures and lessons learned.
Whether you’re at the beginning of your journey or 10 years into business, your voice is important. Make your voice heard.
Inspire, motivate and empower and most of all KEEP GOING!
